Kethlin Campbell, BA, MS

Doctoral-Level Intern | Sport & Performance Psychology Specialist

Kethlin is passionate about helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and trauma while building resilience and confidence in their daily lives. Drawing from her unique background as an elite athlete and scholar, she brings discipline, empathy, and a deep understanding of performance-related pressures into her work. Kethlin supports both individuals facing mental health challenges and athletes or high performers working through injury, identity shifts, and major life transitions. She is experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and uses this approach to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop effective coping skills, and improve emotional regulation.

More about Kethlin

Kethlin’s approach is rooted in understanding the deep connection between mental and physical health. Having competed at the highest levels of collegiate and national athletics, she understands firsthand the pressures, expectations, and internal struggles that often accompany performance-driven environments. Her work focuses on helping clients build mental toughness, process setbacks, and develop sustainable strategies for success, both on and off the field.

She creates a supportive, goal-oriented space where clients can explore challenges, strengthen self-awareness, and develop the tools needed to perform at their best while maintaining emotional well-being.

Kethlin’s clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), where she helps clients identify and restructure unhelpful thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, and build effective coping strategies. She integrates performance psychology principles to help clients enhance focus, confidence, and resilience in high-pressure environments.

Background & Training

Kethlin is a native of Shelbyville, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Medical Humanities from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University.

During her time at both universities, Kethlin competed as a Division I track and field student-athlete, achieving extraordinary success. She captured multiple SEC Conference Championships and NCAA National Championships, earning honors as a multiple-time NCAA First Team All-American, First Team All-SEC, and All-Academic honoree. In 2019, she became the SEC Outdoor 400m Champion, recording a time that ranked her 3rd in the world.

Her athletic career included qualifying for both the 2019 World Championship Trials and the USA Olympic Trials, placing her among the nation’s elite competitors.

Following a career-ending injury, Kethlin shifted her focus toward her passion for mental health and performance. This pivotal experience deepened her understanding of identity, resilience, and the psychological impact of injury and transition—perspective she now integrates into her clinical work.

Kethlin is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Sport and Performance Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a concentration in Sport and Performance Consulting.
