INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT | Hugh Nash

At TRN we value our vast network and working relationship with others in the field. To show our gratitude we like to highlight those that stand out. This week’s “Industry Spotlight” is Hugh Nash! Hugh has been an amazing mentor and friend to Kirsten and Allison over the years. Hugh has such an extensive background and a wealth of experience and we are honored to call him a colleague and more importantly a friend. Hugh, it is with much love and gratitude that we spotlight you and your service to this industry!


MEET HUGH –


Hugh has worked in the field of mental health and addiction for over 30 years. Hugh has vast experience in counseling and coaching, program administration and development, admissions, marketing, and outreach. He has served in leadership positions at several prominent treatment programs. Hugh is currently serving as a behavioral Health Advisor and Intake Manager for Doyen Consulting Group.


Hugh got his start in 1990, where he spent 4 years with Recovery Residences serving as an adolescent counselor and case manager. From there, Hugh went on to New Life Lodge from 1994 to 1999, where he was responsible for overseeing all adolescent programing and assisted in the formation and development of the adolescent program. It was then in 1999 that Hugh first joined Cumberland Heights Treatment Center in Nashville, TN where he worked as the referent and community relations coordinator. Hugh then went on to work as a national outreach coordinator for The Coronado Academy, a therapeutic boarding school in Costa Rica. Then in 2006, Hugh was asked to come back to Cumberland Heights as the Director of Business Development. Hugh was responsible for overseeing all local and national business development as well as the admissions department. In total Hugh, served Cumberland Heights for 14 years.


In 2014, Hugh was tapped to become the VP of Business Development for New Beginnings Adolescent Recovery Center in Opelousas, LA. From there Hugh was asked to join Family First Adolescent Services in Palm Beach Gardens, FL as their National Director of Business Development. In 2016, Hugh became the National Director of Business Development for Next Chapter Treatment – Delray Beach, FL. Hugh was then asked to bring his expertise to Ascend Recovery in American Fork, Utah to serve as their National Director of Business Development.


In June of this year, Hugh followed his passion for helping families and joined Doyen Consulting Group and currently serves as a Behavioral Health Advisor and Intake Manager. Doyen has a new approach to supporting families and individuals in crisis and offers Intervention, treatment placement, and family coaching services. Hugh is widely recognized as a leader and expert in the industry and in 2010 he was awarded “The Professional of the Year” in the state of Tennessee by TAADAC for his dedication and work in the field of addiction. Hugh’s passion for this work stems from his own personal recovery that began in 1986.

Hugh currently lives in Nashville, TN where he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
