Trauma therapy helps to overcome the effects, primarily psychological, of trauma. The therapy is designed to restore calm by helping you work through the psychological, emotional, and mental effects of a traumatic experience. The trauma(s) may have occurred at any point in the individual’s life and may have occurred once or many times. The trauma(s) may be witnessed or experienced and can occur in many forms including physical abuse, sexual abuse or assault, neglect, domestic violence, community violence, war, and natural disasters. Progressive Counting Trauma Resolution
Progressive Counting is a gentle trauma resolution therapy that is not based on traditional talk therapy. Kirsten finds this protocol highly effective when treating trauma, as well as a variety of other symptoms. The protocol especially helps people resolve negative core beliefs so that they can begin to have successful relationships with self and others. By healing these painful memories PC can reduce or eliminate symptoms such as anxiety, depression, guilt, anger, and post traumatic reactions. It can also be used to enhance psychological resources such as confidence and self-esteem. Kirsten has seen excellent outcomes resolving trauma and loss using PC with a person who is simultaneously working through their early addiction recovery. PC also has extremely positive outcomes for those family members who are affected by the trauma of a loved one’s addiction. It is truly an empowering approach to resolving trauma for real, lasting change.
