A safe, supportive space for teens to be themselves
Being a teen can feel overwhelming, pressure from school, friendships, social media, family expectations, and questions about the future. Our Teen Group Therapy for ages 14–17 offers a safe place for teens to talk openly, feel understood, and learn practical tools to cope and grow.
This is a therapeutic group (not just a casual support group) designed to help teens build confidence, emotional insight, and healthy coping skills alongside peers who “get it.”
Who this group is for?
This group is designed for teens who are:
• In 9th–12th grade (approximately ages 14–17)
• Feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed
• Struggling with friendships, family conflict, or relationship drama
• Dealing with low self-esteem, perfectionism, or people-pleasing
• Feeling misunderstood, “different,” or alone
• Wanting a space to talk that isn’t a parent, teacher, or coach
What we focus on in group
Each week, teens will:
• Learn and practice coping skills for stress, anxiety, and big emotions
• Explore healthy communication and boundaries (with friends, family, and dating partners)
• Build self-awareness and emotional insight
• Work on self-esteem, identity, and confidence
• Talk about real-life situations (school, social media, peer pressure, relationships)
• Learn how to express feelings in healthy ways instead of shutting down, lashing out, or turning everything inward
Sessions are a mix of:
• Group discussion
• Guided activities and reflections
• Psychoeducation (short teaching pieces)
• Skills practice that teens can use in everyday life
What to expect
• Small group size so every teen has time to share
• Emphasis on respect, confidentiality, and emotional safety
• Collaborative, conversational feel, teens are encouraged (but not forced) to participate
• Practical tools and takeaways each week
Before joining the group, we typically schedule a brief intake/consultation with the teen and parent/guardian to make sure the group is a good fit and to answer questions.

No. This group is for teens only. Parents/guardians are involved in the intake/onboarding process and may have periodic check-ins with the therapist as clinically appropriate.
Is this therapy or just a support group?
This is a therapeutic group led by a licensed/credentialed mental health professional. It includes both support and structured clinical interventions, skills, and psychoeducation.
Does my teen need to be in individual therapy first?
Not necessarily. Some teens do group only, and others do both group and individual therapy. We’ll talk about the best plan during the intake/consultation.
